About

The Lostwithiel Town Trail website and its associated information boards, benches, cycle racks, and wildlife nesting boxes have been produced by the Lostwithiel Town Team.

The Town Team was formed to seek funding to undertake projects of value to the commnity, that will help to reinvigorate the town centre, and that will enhance a sense of place for local people and visitors alike. It has secured funding to commission Reports for Lostwithiel Town Council on Town Centre Revitalisation and on Sustainable Traffic and Travel.

The first of these reports investigated strategies for the development of Edgcumbe House, Taprell House, and the Guildhall and was followed up in a recent Demand Study. The second report investigated traffic flow, public transport, speed limits for traffic, and the expansion of parking provision. Action under all of these areas is being undertaken by the Town Council.

The establishment of this Town Trail was made possible by a substantial grant from the Cornwall Council Town Delivery Fund and a smaller grant from the Cornwall Council Community Chest.

The members of the Town Team are all volunteers and give their time freely towards these projects.  We welcome new members to join us at any time: please let us know through the 'Contact Us' page. We also welcome all comments and corrections to this website and any suggestions about how you would like to see it develop. Again, please let us know through the 'Contact Us' page.
